The Tartan Pro Tour has received a further boost today with the backing of long-term Scottish golf sponsors Aberdeen Standard Investments in the form of a place in the field for the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open to be staged at The Renaissance Club, North Berwick, between the 8th -11th October, and a place in the field for the ASI Ladies Scottish Open in 2021 for the leading female.
Speaking about the announcement, Paul Lawrie commented: “This is yet another example of the incredible support which Aberdeen Standard Investments provides the game of golf in Scotland. For the leading (male) player from our 2020 Order of Merit to have the opportunity to play in the ASI Scottish Open later in the year is just brilliant. And the leading female professional can look forward to a start at the 2021 ASI Ladies Scottish Open.”
The highest ranked players, following the conclusion of the initial series of 6 events, who are not otherwise exempt, will be teeing-it-up alongside some of the world’s best when the European Tour event returns to East Lothian this Autumn and on the co-sanctioned Ladies European Tour and LPGA event in 2021.
Jill Maxwell, Global Head of Brand Activation for Aberdeen Standard Investments added: “As a Scottish company we are proud to support Scottish golf at every level. We are therefore delighted to offer the Tartan Pro Tour these two sought-after playing spots as part of our wider Scottish Open sponsorship strategy. Paul and his team have done a remarkable job to give male and female golfers an opportunity to get out and play and we hope the lure of the Scottish Opens adds an extra incentive!”
